A League of His Own Will Arnett on his Canadian upbringing, fighting hair loss, and Will Ferrell's ego. Q&A by George Wayne April 2007 On Arrested Development, the now canceled show that had critics fawning, Will Arnett played the irascible George Oscar Bluth II. Now with sitcoms in his rearview mirror, he focuses on a number of projects for the big screen—most notably as a figure skater alongside Will Ferrell in this month's Blades of Glory. Our correspondent takes his measure. Link |

Andy Barker has been on (on NBC) for about three weeks now, and stars Tony Hale ("Buster"), as well as (of course) repeat AD guest star Andy Richter. Here's a (deservedly) positive review:
There's no accounting for taste. In some quarters, the idea of Andy Richter returning to TV as a crime-solving accountant is likely to be met with a shrug. But for fans of sitcoms in general, and of Richter's work in particular — from his run on Late Night With Conan O'Brien to his late, lamented sitcom Andy Richter Controls the Universe— it's cause for celebration indeed. Granted, this new Andy may not be as inventive or subversive as Universe, but it is just as funny and probably a bit more accessible. Full review

USA Today has a cutesy story about Will "G.O.B." Arnett and his real-life seal-dealing wife, Amy Poehler. (Except for the part where Amy is a real seal dealer.) They are starring together in Blades of Glory with Will Ferrell. This probably bodes well for Krindy Bluth/USArmy making an appearance in an AD movie, should there be one. Jessica Walter (a.k.a. Lucille Bluth) will be appearing on the David Spade sitcom "Rules of Engagement" on March 5th. (9:30 p.m., CBS) She will play a former flame of Spades's, according to TV Fodder. (And I share their "ew", at him, not her.) Link |

This article is older than the one about Mitch partnering with the Tannenbaums in a deal with Sony TV...but it seems pretty likely that this is one of the shows that's wrapped up in that deal. From TV.com: Mitchell Hurwitz and Arrested Development writer will team for US remake of British hit. The Bluth teller is back. Arrested Development creator Mitchell Hurwitz and Development writer Richard Day will develop a US version of the British sitcom The Thick of It, about inept politicians. The British series follows members of Parliament, so presumably the US version will be about Washington DC bureaucrats. The British version won Best New Comedy at the British Comedy Awards. The US version is being developed for Sony TV. Day will write the pilot script and will coexecutive produce along with Hurwitz. In addition to Development, Day has written for NBC's Good Morning, Miami and HBO's The Larry Sanders Show. Arrested Development told the story of the highly dysfunctional Bluth family. The show ran for three seasons on Fox, earning two Emmys and a tidy fan base but never becoming a ratings star. Link |
